An Introduction to Baking Bread

  • Full Day Course

Learn a new skill while having an enjoyable a day out on our 'Introduction to Baking Bread' course.
This is a full-day course ideal for those who wish to learn the basics of bread making. The course is led by our resident cook Carolyn Royle, a real bread making enthusiast. It's a great opportunity to try your hand at making a selection of different breads as well as taking a look at bread from different parts of the world. Bread making is also great for relieving stress and very therapeutic!

All ingredients are provided and everything you make is yours to take home. Hopefully you will leave us full of inspiration, ready to try some new bread making recipes for yourself!
All refreshments including a light lunch are provided by the bakery.

Course Content:

  • Learn a little about the science of bread making, different techniques and the ingredients used to make the bread of your choice
  • Work with different bread starters
  • Mix, shape and prove doughs, all the way through to the bake
  • Make and bake a selection of different bread types to take home including a french country loaf, brown rolls and brioche.

Should you require any further details regarding ingredients, particularly if you suffer from a particular food allergy, then please do not hesitate to ring the bakery and discuss this with us.  

  • Lunch and all the ingredients are included in the course price
  • All you need to bring is an apron and some boxes to take home all the lovely things you'll make on the day!
