About the bakery
Speckled Hen Country Bakery is run by me, Lisa Hocknell. I live in Cheshire at Hollins Farm with my family. I’m Cheshire born and bred, and we’re a real farming family!
I started the Speckled Hen Country Bakery because I wanted to give people traditional baking that was really tasty.
I began with recipes that I’d always used, together with some from family and friends – then I worked on them until I had the best flapjacks and brownies I could imagine.
I didn’t want to use any artificial additives, and I only used the type of ingredients you’d use at home.
Above all, I wanted to keep the homemade style. All we’ve done at Speckled Hen Country Bakery is to do what you’d do at home, but do it on a bigger scale. If you saw our bakery, everything we do would look familiar to you.
People tell me they really like my cakes for one simple reason – they’re absolutely delicious! And I hope you think so, too.
